LVL Construction is a Bournemouth family building firm led by Joe Laurence. The work is mostly brick and stone: new walls, patios and driveways, extensions, and repointing old Purbeck stone in natural hydraulic lime rather than cement. Jobs have taken the team from Swanage and Sandbanks to Hengistbury Head.

Where we work
Based in Bournemouth and covering the areas below. Not sure if you're in range? Just ask.
All of the works (challenging and painstaking at times, with 30+ tonnes of material removed and much the same laid anew) have been completed to a very high standard, on time and within the agreed budget.
These guys just built an amazing dry stone wall for us and the result is truly fabulous.

Asked and answered
01Do you work with lime mortar?
Yes. On old Purbeck stone we rake out the joints and repoint in natural hydraulic lime, not cement, so the walls can breathe.
02Will repointing make a lot of dust?
We grind out with an industrial extractor that captures around 98% of the dust, so there's far less mess for you and your neighbours.
03Do you only do old buildings?
No. Alongside heritage work we build new brick and stone walls, patios, driveways, extensions and renovations.
04Where do you work?
We're based in Bournemouth and work across Poole and Purbeck, with jobs in Sandbanks, Lilliput, Swanage and at Hengistbury Head.
